As Captain Dick Clemmer was building the company that was to become Virginia Metalcrafters in the early 30's, he and Mrs. Clemmer, who was an antique shop and flea market enthusiast, would travel all over the area to find ideas for gift products. During their travels they met a sculptor named Calvin Roy Kinsler. They commissioned him to carve various pieces. Among them, a number of horse sculptures which remain in the line today as door stops and bookends. On the gray iron Hunter Doorstop, you will see Mr. Kinslers+ initials cast into the back. This piece and the polished brass #3380 Citation Doorstop were carved with specific permission of Calumet Farms, then the owner of the Kentucky Derby winner, Citation. The Citation Doorstop is an authorized sculpture of that great race horse. -- $49.95
